Candy Cane Christmas Mouse

I made these 3D Candy Cane Christmas Mice for the children in my daycare. I had to make 40, so it had to be pretty easy. I designed the cut on DS, using George and TBBM (just for the tag). I also printed the sentiment with my computer and cut to fit on tag.

Here are the cuts off the mat. Body on top and Ears on bottom.

First, make the face. I used a Dotta-Riffic pen to easily dot the eyes and nose.

Fold the nose pieces under, overlap to form "cone" and tape.

Fold the top of the mouse's bottom over the tail flap and tape down.

Do the same with the other side. Now his backside is done.

Fold the ears in half. I just fold the oval part of the ears and not the rectangle in the middle.

Thread one folded ear into the ear slot.

Thread the other ear up through the slot.

Flatten the ears out a bit.

Thread a candy cane from the top (patterned side of paper) of the mouse starting at his bottom. This is what it looks like from underneath.

Thread under the ear piece and rest in the nose.

Add tag. Mine says, "Not a creature was stirring... Have a peaceful and sweet Christmas! Love, Miss Alice"

Christmas Invites

Our department is going out to dinner to celebrate the holidays, so I thought I'd make "formal" invitations for everyone. It's a criss-cross card. Instead of ribbon, I made the band from a George rectangle and a whole bunch of C's (all welded together).

For the invitation details, I used BB for the "Season's Greetings" that is welded to the rounded rectangle insert. Here it is with the insert all tucked away:

Praying for You card

Thanks to Capadia's tutorial on apertures, I finally got brave and updated my DS and was able to make an adjustable aperture card! So glad that Wal-mart price-matched M's on the cart deal - got Storybook! Yay!
